The Beijing Axis Johannesburg office would like to cordially invite you to join us for an invitation-only procurement roundtable over a light breakfast.

Date: 4 November 2011
Time: 07:00 (for 07:30)
Venue: Radisson Blu Hotel, Sandton (close to Hilton), Johannesburg, South Africa
Topic: 'Integrating China in Capital Project Planning and Supply Chains for the Global Mining, Infrastructure and Industrial Sectors'

As Africa continues to play a vital role in the global mining industry, China's role in the country's economic development is more strongly entrenched not only due to its appetite for Africa's resources but also because of its growing importance as a key supply chain partner in the resource, infrastructure and equipment sectors. While supply chain managers deal with capacity constraints and seek to minimize costs, Low Cost Country (LCC) sourcing is being integrated into project planning in the resource and infrastructure sectors. China is particularly attractive as it boasts a significant shift in its export structure to more technology-intensive products. However, many concerns still remain over quality control and the difficulty of executing China-based procurement. This session will examine the rationale, issues and processes of successful procurement from China.
