Event description:

2019 sees the 25th Anniversary of the Mining Indaba conference. The highly anticipated event will see the largest amount of investors, mining executives and junior miners from across the globe come together for this leading deal making forum.

The unrivalled networking is matched by an agenda that features His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa, Republic of South Africa, joined by His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, 35 Mining Ministers and the most influential people in African mining. No other mining event provides this level of expertise and access to the entire value chain.

The largely interactive and market-led programme brings together leading representatives from the mining investment community, the world's largest mining houses and government ministries to share insights into how the sector can drive investments and capitalise on the opportunities available to Africa's mining industry. Mining Indaba strategically develops content and co-ordinates a programme that maximises value and enables delegates to take away key information about the industry that cannot be accessed elsewhere. This year’s event will include an enhanced business matchmaking portal, an investment pavilion, a whole day dedicated to battery metals, an increased focus on resource nationalism, and women in mining, among other important themes and features.

Kobus van der Wath, Founder and Group Managing Director of Axis Group International / The Beijing Axis, will be moderating 2 panel discussions. The first is on "Making processing more efficient: How can you process less material and reduce waste?", where he will be joined by Daniel Major, CEO of Goviex; Liezel Jacob, Project Manager – Plant of Vedanta Resources; and, Jean Philippe Mai, Vice President, Business Development of Dundee Sustainable Technologies. The session will be on 6 February 2018 (Wednesday), 11:15 – 12:00, at Stage C. This session will be immediately followed by the session on “Creating organizational value in the digital transformation journey”, where he will be joined by Andrew Crose, Director, Europe, Middle East, and Africa of Hexagon Mining. The session will be on 6 February 2018 (Wednesday), 12:00 – 12:30, at Stage C of the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
