Buoyed by the country’s sustained economic growth, and its resulting need to secure stable energy supplies, Chinese national oil companies have been expanding their international reach by competing and partnering with foreign counterparts. The Chinese government has set a clear target of achieving China’s overseas oil equity production of 2.8 million barrels/day by 2020, indicating that Chinese national oil companies will continue to structurally shift the overall industry landscape with far reaching implications for global peers, EPCMs and oilfield service providers.
